Rocky River #703, F&AM

Elected Officers

Mark W. Rantala, P.M. - Worshipful Master

Mark W. Rantala, P.M.

My Masonic history started when I joined John T. McMillan Chapter Order of DeMolay in Ashtabula in 1965.  I served as Master Councilor and then as District Chairman of the Second District and as State Senior Deacon.  I was awarded the DeMolay Degree of Chevalier and the Active Legion of Honor.

I was raised in Harbor Lodge # 558 (my grandfather’s Lodge) in Ashtabula in 1973.  I am also a member of the A.A.S.R. Valley of Cleveland.  I demitted to Rocky River Lodge in 2000 and served as the 75thMaster of Rocky River Lodge in 2003-04.   I am honored to be serving as Senior Warden this year and look forward to returning to the East next year if elected by the brethren.  I look forward to helping return Rocky River Lode to the top of the District.

My two greatest thrills as a Mason were seeing my Father become a member of the Fraternity in the one day class and sitting in Lodge with him at Rocky River #703.  My second greatest thrill was to have Steven J. Krekus  (now Past Grand Master) raise me in Harbor Lodge and have him install me as Master when he was Deputy Grand Master.

My wife Mary Anne and I have lived in Rocky River for 22 years.  We have two daughters who graduated from Rocky River High School.  I am the Executive Director of the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority.
